I have finished my bracelettes (and started another LOL!) they are supposed to look twisted. I need to get better clasps, they have some called clam shell clasps that I am going to get. The bottom one is pink & red beads twisting around the black.
When the lady taught me to make these she seemed pretty adament (sp?) about using black beads for the "core" of the bracelet, but I used silver beads as the core and am working on one that has amber beads for the core and gold on the outside. I also embellished two of them with small silver shaped beads, look closely and see the butterflies and dragonflies.
I also need to get some better quality thread. DO NOT BUY THE THREAD FROM WALLY WORLD! Cheap stuff, I ended up using good coats & clark heavy quilting thread that I ran thru a bar of my soap. LOL I know, it sounds weird, but works!
When I have more time and am feeling especially zealous, I will make a necklace. I am worried about getting my thread knotted up because you need to use a lot of it. Also, I get so darned bored so easily am ready to start another bracelette before I have even finished the other! Adult ADD! LOL! That is why I am an artist. Oh, and BTW, my daughters have laid claim to 2 of the bracelettes! The one that has ALL of the mixed colors is mine and the first one I ever did. It's got some uh ohs in it but hey! That is how you learn.
Well, I have a biz meeting this evening and have to give the finacial report as well as an update to the Board of Directors for this Neighborhood Assoc. I work part time for. I have been gone a lot this summer so have not done all the things I set out to do but should have it all done by the end of August. *sigh* it's extra money I really can't complain about.
I'll try and write more later. BFN! ~katcha
